We are just back from a wonderful holiday In Canada, and finally summer seems to have got here after a fashion “slightly erratic” might be a good description of the weather we are experiencing currently here in Northumberland.

Anyway whilst we were away the world stopped for a spot of Royal Wedding fever – didn’t Megan look simply beautiful? Her dress radiated understated and sophisticated elegance, I watched a short synopsis of the day on the plane home and enjoyed the spectacle especially everyone’s hats & headpieces of course.

Doria Ragland drew much understandable attention and admiration, and one my other favourite outfits was the beautiful green hand painted gown by Dolce & Gabbana, worn with orange heels, and a green headpiece with veiling worn by Lady Kitty Spencer, captured here in a Getty image featured in Harpers Bazaar.

Such is the importance of fashion at events as the Royal Wedding that it will shape the millinery trends we will see for this summer and beyond, so in my next post I’ll be bringing you up date with a feature Living North have just run on my millinery work as well an opportunity to enter a competition to win one of my headpieces – just in time for the races or a summer wedding.

A final hat note for this post – for my blog post’s featured image I have also chosen another beautiful Getty image for Harpers Bazaar this time of Doria Ragland. This image features Doria wearing Oscar de la Renta and a Stephen Jones headpiece.
