The Great Hat Exhibition will mark next year’s London Hat Week, a week long international millinery event, staged across Central London in March 2018.
The exhibition, first organised in 2015, is mastermined by the brilliant fashion team “XTerrace” based at the Central London site of Coventry University. The XTerrace team led by their charismatic Professor (& milliner) Monique Lee Hylands-White, are currently busy organising the next March’s exhibition which will be staged in March 2018, at St. Pancras and Somers Town Living Centre (5 mins walk from King’s Cross station).

I was stunned when two of my pieces were selected for inclusion in the 2016 exhibition “MillinerXArtisan”. So to promote my current work, a few weeks ago I submitted two couture pieces from my Northumberland collection for consideration to be included in the selection for “The Great Hat Exhibition”.

Yesterday I received a lovely email from the team at XTerrace advising that both pieces have been selected. So which ones I can hear you asking can you see there in March?

Many of my regular blog readers will be familiar with “An English Country Garden”, which has had a very busy year, having been well received both in both Melbourne & Nebraska, not to mention Alnwick!

And now it will go to London, too, along with one of my newest pieces “A Celebration of Alnwick Garden” (pictured above). This new piece features totally new techniques for me, and has also been selected as one of the top 30 (out of an exhibition pool of almost 300 hats & headpieces) to be shown at the pre-press launch!

Phew, I am delighted by the news!
