Well, the Christmas Gift Fair season has well and truly arrived, and as I started this year’s round of fairs yesterday with a great trip to George Watson’s College in Merchiston, Edinburgh. I thought it was time to update you on where I’ll be over the next few weeks.
At all the fairs I’ll be showing a selection of winter millinery, hats and headpieces, as well as millinery accessories. New for this winter is a gorgeous collection of silk velvet headbands, available in rich winter colours as well as a Back to Black collection featuring velvets, lace and diamantes.
Please do get in touch if you would like any more details about the new collections or the accessory ranges – using the Contact Us link here.
This weekend I’ll be at the fantastic Crafters Art & Design Fair at Springwood Park, Kelso, which is being held on Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th November. The Crafters of Melrose always put together a brilliantly diverse selection of makers for their winter show, and I’m really looking forward to attending this fair again.
The Crafters Art & Design event is held at the Kelso’s Borders Showground, TD5 8LS. You can visit the event on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5.
Two weeks later, and it’s on to the three-day Christmas Craft Fair at Brancepeth Castle, Durham.
The castle provides a wonderful setting for the fair, which is set up across several locations within the vast building.
Opening at 10 am until 5 pm on both Friday, 28th & Saturday, 29th, the trading hours on Sunday are 12-5 pm (the Keep Cafe will be open if you happen to arrive a few minutes early).
In December, I’m back again in Edinburgh for the charity fundraising event, held every winter at Merchiston Castle School Fair. This year it’s being held on Saturday, December 6th. Please note the opening hours of 10-1 pm.
There are lots of free parking spaces on site as well as a great selection of local stands and I must mention too that there is also a lovely cafe serving delicious coffee and cakes in the Old Library!
The Christmas Market at The Bowes Museum is another new event for me, and I’m delighted to be involved with fair, at this stunning historic location.
At the Bowes, you will find stalls in both the grounds and in the museum itself, which is where you will find my stand.
For the duration of the market, The Bowes are offering specially priced entry tickets – please refer to The Bowes website more details.
For my last fair event of 2025, I am returning to The Craster Arms, Beadnell, NE67 5AX, for their Christmas market.
At Beadnell, I will be “ensconced” in my cosy Christmas cabin with a range of winter hats, headpieces and accessories from Saturday, 20th to Tuesday, 23rd inclusive.
And for the younger ones amongst us, enquiries for appointments with Father Christmas are also available (via The Craster Arms website).
The market remains open on Wednesday, the 24th, and in the afternoon locals and visitors alike traditionally gather to sing carols and enjoy the brass band.
And after all this activity it only remains for me to wish you and yours a Very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year!
