As the nights begin to draw in and the temperature gets definitely chillier, I thought I would add an update to let you know the fairs and events I will be attending this winter.

The first fair of November is at George Watsons, in Merchiston, Edinburgh. Taking place on Saturday, November 8th 11-4, this fair, run by the Edinburgh organisation “Support the Makers”. It’s my first fair with this organiser, and it’s also the first time I’ve been at an event at George Watsons’, so it’s all really quite exciting!
Following the Watsons’ fair, I’ll be at the fantastic Crafters Art & Design Fair at Springwood Park, Kelso, on Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th November. The Crafters of Melrose always put together a brilliantly diverse selection of makers for their winter show, and I’m really looking forward to attending this fair again.
Two weeks later, and it’s on to the three-day Craft Fair at Brancepeth Castle, Durham. The castle provides a wonderful setting for the fair, which is set up across a number of locations within the vast building. Opening at 10 am until 5 pm on both Friday 28th & Saturday 29th, the trading hours on Sunday are 12-5 pm (the keep cafe will be open if you happen to arrive a few minutes early).
In December, I’m back again in Edinburgh for the charity fundraising event held every winter at Merchiston Castle School Fair, on December 3rd. Please note the opening hours of 10-1 pm. Last, but not least, is the wonderful Christmas Market, held at The Craster Arms, Beadnell, Saturday December 20 – Wednesday 24 . Curated by Wayne Johnson, the market will be open from 12-4 pm. Attractions at The Crater Arms Christmas Market will include appointments with Father Christmas (bookable only) and a brass band on Christmas Eve. I’ll be there December 20-23.
At all the fairs I’ll be showing a selection of winter millinery, hats and headpieces, as well as millinery accessories. New for this winter is a gorgeous collection of silk velvet headbands, available in rich winter colours. Please get in touch if you would like any more details – using the Contact Us link here.
If there are any more developments on the fair front, I’ll let you know. I’ll also be posting updates to Facebook and Instagram.
